In the heart of the Médoc, vines were already to be found in the area known as "Fourcas" in the 18th century, as evidenced by Belleyme's cartographic work under Louis XV. "Fourcas Dupré took its name in 1843, when Master Jean Antoine Dupré became the owner.
Since the summer of 2019, Château Fourcas Dupré has changed ownership. It is Mr Jicquel, a Breton entrepreneur who bought the property. A lifelong wine lover, but above all an unconditional lover of Bordeaux wines, Mr Jicquel is the Co-founder and former Managing Director of the Samsic service group, present in more than 20 countries.
In 2019, after more than 30 years in the business, he decided to make his dream come true by acquiring Château Fourcas Dupré.

It is at the price of very high quality standards that the wines of Château Fourcas Dupré are widely recognised in the press, by the greatest international critics and by many wine lovers throughout the world.
The Listrac-Médoc appellation is one of the 6 communal appellations of the Haut-Médoc. Together with Margaux, Moulis, Saint-Julien, Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe they constitute the best terroirs. The whole estate is classified in AOC Listrac-Médoc.
The vineyard of Château Fourcas Dupré comprises 46 hectares in a single block. It is composed of more than 80% Pyrenean gravel and clayey, chalky and clayey-limestone sub-soils. This terroir of "Pyrenean gravel" is unique in the Médoc and gives the wines of Château Fourcas Dupré a very characteristic personality: minerality,
complexity, smoky and roasted notes at the end of the mouth and finally a remarkable aptitude for ageing. Sustainable agriculture: grassing, limitation of treatments, mechanical weeding, organic fertilizers, restoration of microbial and bacteriological life in the soil, return of endemic flora...

Thanks to continuous renovation, our cellars and farm buildings today have all the assets to make a great wine of
Bordeaux. The vinification vat room is equipped with a high-performance thermoregulation system, essential for the conservation of the wine.
the fruit and freshness of our wines. During the vinification process, the emphasis is placed on the search for complexity, pleasure and balance. The ageing cellars are old and particularly adapted to the maturing of the wines. The very complete period vat room has been preserved in its original state and offers a real journey into the past to the many visitors who come to the estate each year.
The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, renewed by a third each year. Malolactic fermentation
made in barrels ensure an integrated melted wood intake. Particular care is taken in the blends to respect the personality of each vintage and the characteristics of our exceptional terroir.
